Lula da Silva aims to host historic BRICS Summit & COP30 in 2025

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is positioning Brazil as a leader in democracy, energy transition, and global investment ahead of the 2025 BRICS Summit and the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30).

Speaking at the Palácio do Planalto, Lula emphasised the significance of these events:

“I am not being humble when I say we held the most important G20 in history. Now, we will do the same with the largest BRICS Summit and host the best-ever COP in the heart of the Amazon,” he stated, as reported by TV BRICS.

COP30, set to take place in Belém, will not only drive discussions on climate change but also highlight the lives and struggles of indigenous communities in the Amazon.
