Egypt’s Ramsco gains BRICS recognition for gender inclusion

Ramsco Biotechnologies has been recognised as a leading private sector example from Egypt in the 2025 BRICS Businesswomen Alliance report.

The company’s women empowerment initiative was spotlighted as one of the most effective practices promoting gender inclusion and food security across BRICS and partner countries.

This year’s BRICS Businesswomen report drew insights from more than 20 countries, focusing on six priority sectors: creative industries, food and environmental security, healthcare, inclusive economies, innovation, and tourism.

Ramsco distinguished itself through its progressive institutional policies aimed at promoting fair working conditions for women in agriculture. By ensuring equal pay and creating equitable opportunities, the company reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to gender equality and sustainable food systems.

At the heart of this initiative is founder and CEO Mansour, who implemented a wage reform model in rural farming communities—addressing a system where women historically earned just half of what men were paid. Her efforts introduced a fair wage structure that set a precedent for agricultural equity.

At the same time, Ramsco has pioneered the use of advanced biotechnologies in organic farming—replacing harmful chemical inputs with biofertilisers and biopesticides. These sustainable alternatives not only improve crop quality but also reduce water usage by 30% and help mitigate the effects of climate change.

Under Mansour’s leadership, Ramsco has further expanded its regenerative agriculture solutions, including innovations in biochar technology and organic soil enhancers. These tools increase land productivity while promoting climate resilience and empowering women to take on leadership roles in modern, tech-enabled farming systems.

This international recognition cements Ramsco’s status as a regional leader in sustainable agriculture—driven by social inclusion, environmental stewardship, and a deep commitment to gender empowerment.

“I’m proud to see Ramsco Biotechnologies named among the BRICS Alliance’s top practices, representing Egypt in empowering rural women and supporting food security,” said Rawya Mansour, CEO of Ramsco Egypt and Oasis Technologies Monaco.
