U.S. dismisses concerns about potential UAE chip resale to BRICS

The White House has downplayed concerns raised by some U.S. officials over the possibility that the United Arab Emirates might resell advanced microchips received from the United States to BRICS nations.

At a regular press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that the recently signed U.S.-UAE agreement on cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) includes robust security safeguards to prevent such scenarios.

“So, read the agreements. There are security guarantees,” the White House Spokeswoman said.

“These AI agreements, particularly the one the Secretary of Commerce [Howard Lutnick] signed in the UAE, has security guarantees to ensure that China is not getting the advantage, but the United States is getting the advantage when it comes to AI, and that the UAE and the US are working hand in hand together to invest in this space,” she said.
