Ethiopia’s BRICS membership is set to greatly enhance its global influence and recognition, according to a senior researcher at the Institute of Foreign Affairs.
Ethiopia’s official entry into the BRICS alliance in 2024, alongside four other nations, offers new prospects for the East African country to engage in multilateral cooperation. In an interview with ENA, senior researcher Himanot Eshetu said Ethiopia’s involvement in BRICS will not only protect its national interests on the global stage but also offer a platform to champion the causes of developing nations.
