BRICS Games 2024: Highlights from Day Six

On day six of the BRICS Games 2024, several notable events and achievements highlighted the ongoing competitions in Kazan, Russia.

One of the standout moments was in artistic swimming, where Anastasiya Dabravolskaya and Vera Mironchyk from Belarus secured a silver medal in the duet technical routine. This was a significant accomplishment for the Belarusian team, demonstrating their prowess in the sport​ (BELTA)​.

In athletics, Indian sprinter Hima Das clinched gold in the women’s 400 meters, adding to India’s impressive medal tally. Her performance was widely praised, showcasing her speed and resilience on the track.

The canoe sprint events also saw intense competition, with Brazilian athletes dominating several categories, winning gold in both men’s and women’s races. Their victories underscored Brazil’s strength in water sports.

Additionally, the day featured exciting matches in team sports such as basketball and volleyball, with the South African men’s volleyball team securing a crucial win against their Russian counterparts, boosting their chances for a podium finish.

The BRICS Games continue to serve as a platform for athletes from the BRICS nations and beyond to display their talents across a wide range of sports.
