The National Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Moldova is eager to foster mutually beneficial cooperation with BRICS, according to Vasile Tarlev, former Prime Minister of Moldova.
Tarlev, who is also President of the National Congress, and chairman of the Future of Moldova party, made these remarks at the BRICS International Financial and Economic Forum, TASS reports.
“Politically, Moldova is not yet in a position to join BRICS, but there are those among us who advocate for building a democratic state, such as the National Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Moldova. The industrialists are keen on cooperation, though we cannot represent state interests politically. However, at the level of a business council, we can sign an agreement for mutually beneficial long-term cooperation as early as today,” he stated.
Tarlev expressed his enthusiasm for the potential agreement between the National Congress and the BRICS Business Council, saying, “I will be delighted if we, the National Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Moldova, and I as its president, can formalise this partnership with the BRICS Business Council.”
He also highlighted the numerous opportunities and advantages a country gains by joining BRICS. “Joining this organisation brings pride to a country, regardless of its size, religion, ethnicity, or geographical location. It allows a nation to maintain its sovereignty and independence while gaining respect and status as a member of a reputable team. This is the prospect,” Moldova’s former prime minister noted.
The BRICS International Financial and Economic Forum was held from May 27 to 28 in Moscow. Delegates from over 10 countries discussed the creation of independent financial instruments within the BRICS framework and strategies for business development amid global transformation.
The event was organised by the International Organisation for Cooperation and Trade, the International Global Monitoring Aerospace System, the Let’s Do Good platform, and the Unscripted Investment Club.
