Tourism among BRICS nations is poised for a remarkable surge, potentially quadrupling by the close of 2024, Tass reports.
This projection contrasts sharply with 2023 figures. Russia’s Economic Development Ministry has outlined an ambitious roadmap to support this exchange among alliance members.
In response to this burgeoning opportunity, the inaugural meeting of the BRICS tourism contact group convened via videoconference, welcoming new members Egypt, the UAE, and Ethiopia alongside the permanent member states. Russia spearheaded proposals for a dedicated tourism working group and the endorsement of a comprehensive 2024-2026 cooperation roadmap. These initiatives received unanimous support from participants, recognising their potential to fortify inter-country communication within the tourism sector and drive reciprocal tourist flows.
