A month before Olympics, 74 countries expected in Russia for BRICS Games

The timing of the BRICS Games, just ahead of the Olympics, adds an extra layer of significance to the competition. It serves as a precursor to the global sporting event, offering athletes a final opportunity to fine-tune their performance and garner momentum before competing on the world stage in Paris.

As many as 74 countries will take part in the 2024 BRICS Games this year in the Russian city of Kazan, a senior state official of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan said, according to Tass.

BRICS countries will compete in various disciplines, from track and field to swimming and gymnastics.

The BRICS Games also promote cultural exchange, allowing participants and spectators alike to learn about the rich heritage and traditions of each member nation. Cultural performances, exhibitions, and workshops further enhance the spirit of friendship and understanding among participants.
