The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a non-profit organisation, has inaugurated its office in the UAE following the expansion of the BRICS grouping to include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other nations as of January 1, 2024.
“By welcoming the UAE into the BRICS alliance, we open the doors to boundless collaboration, embarking on an extraordinary journey together,” expressed Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI. The organization is dedicated to fostering commerce and industry among BRICS and its allied nations.
Shastri further emphasized, “This occasion underscores our steadfast dedication to nurturing global partnerships, promoting bilateral trade, and propelling economic development.”
The BRICS bloc has effectively increased its membership to 10 countries with the recent expansion. Ansh Virmani, Country Director of BRICS CCI UAE Chapter, remarked, “The inclusion of the UAE in this esteemed alliance signifies more than just geographical expansion; it signifies the enrichment of our collective potential with the UAE’s distinctive blend of innovation, strategic foresight, and multiculturalism.”
