BRICS to discuss Syria as it eyes reconstruction and possible membership

BRICS is set to engage in discussions about the situation in Syria, with the aim of developing unified approaches to the ongoing crisis. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and BRICS Sherpa Sergey Ryabkov shared these insights in an interview with TASS.

“BRICS consistently addresses Middle Eastern issues, and Syria will be a key focus,” Ryabkov stated. “We’ve already established a framework for specialised consultations at the deputy foreign minister level, which provides a platform for more in-depth discussions.”

Ryabkov said these talks will go beyond simple dialogue, aiming for stronger coordination and, ideally, the creation of a unified stance on Syria’s future.
