Sberbank: BRICS poised to emerge as a global hub for the creative economy

Creative industries — spanning design, art, media, content, and gaming — now contribute over 4% to global GDP and are rapidly becoming new engines of growth, according to Sberbank. The sector is expanding 15% faster than the global economy as a whole, with a market value exceeding $1.6 trillion, the bank said in a statement.

Sberbank Senior Vice President Vladislav Kreinin, who also serves as Director of Marketing and Communications, noted that BRICS+ countries, including India, have the potential to become global hubs for creative innovation driven by emerging technologies.

“The BRICS+ nations can become centers for the development of creative solutions based on breakthrough technologies, and the Created in BRICS+ label is emerging as a new mark of quality and innovation,” Kreinin said.

Speaking at the BRICS International Forum in St. Petersburg, Kreinin added that creative industries are fast becoming a driving force in shaping the modern economy, highlighting their growing importance in global economic transformation.
