India beats the drum for small farmers and climate resilience at BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Summit

India has spoken out in support of sustainable agriculture, focusing on inclusive growth, farmer welfare, and innovation.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stressed the role of small and marginal farmers in India’s vision for global food security, advocating for the “collective empowerment” of over 510 million smallholder farmers worldwide.

He was speaking at the 15th BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting.
