BRICS ties strengthen amid US aid cuts, says South African leader

Khalid Muhammad, youth activist and Western Cape spokesperson for the African National Congress (ANC), has called the cessation of US foreign aid to South Africa a “wake-up call” and an opportunity for transformation.

In an interview with RT, Muhammad emphasised the need for South Africa to intensify economic ties within BRICS — especially with Russia, China, Brazil, India, and even Iran, a nation often targeted by US isolation efforts.
