Cuba and Bolivia are set to join BRICS as partner countries starting January 1, 2025, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Riabkov in an interview with Izvestia newspaper. “Both countries are part of the group that has received an invitation. We are confident that everything will proceed smoothly with them as partners,” Riabkov said. He also noted that while negotiations for the inclusion of the invited countries as partners are still ongoing, Russia has yet to receive any refusals.
“This is a significant opportunity for all invited nations. There are only a few days left before the official list is made public,” the Russian diplomat added.
