Turkey continues to pursue its interest in joining BRICS, but President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says further preparations are needed before formally announcing its intentions. Speaking after the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Erdogan stated, “We are still working on our BRICS membership. Once the process is complete, we will inform the association about the results,” as reported by TRT Haber.
Earlier, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat confirmed that Turkey had received an invitation to join BRICS either as a partner nation or an associated member.
