Britain’s development finance institution has named former finance chief of the BRICS bank, Leslie Maasdorp, as its new CEO.
South African Maasdorp, who served as vice president and chief financial officer of the New Development Bank (NDB) until his term ended in July, will succeed Nick O’Donohoe as CEO of British International Investment (BII) this autumn.
O’Donohoe is retiring after seven years at the helm of BII.
Maasdorp previously held leadership roles at the NDB, a multilateral development bank established in 2015 by the BRICS nations.
