Kashmiri party leader denounces terrorism at BRICS meeting

Mir Junaid, a prominent Kashmiri political figure, recently addressed the BRICS Forum in Russia, championing a message of global unity. He staunchly denounced all forms of cross-border terrorism, violence, and external aggression, advocating instead for a vision of peace and prosperity, as reported by ANI.

The BRICS meeting, convened in Grozny, welcomed a diverse array of global leaders, diplomats, government officials, and cultural influencers.

Junaid, the president of the Jammu Kashmir Workers Party, expressed his deep-rooted connection to India, emphasising its rich diversity and the longstanding tradition of peaceful coexistence among various religious and cultural communities in the region. He underscored Kashmir’s integral role within India’s diverse tapestry, highlighting its historical significance and harmonious social fabric.

Commending the leadership of both India and Russia, Junaid applauded the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Vladimir Putin, and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov in promoting inclusivity and unity within their respective domains.

In addressing the challenges posed by external aggression and cross-border terrorism, Junaid condemned the actions of neighboring countries that aim to disrupt Kashmir’s tolerant ethos.
