Syria has officially applied to join the BRICS group, according to Bashar Jaafari, the country’s ambassador to Russia.
“We have a strong interest in becoming a member of BRICS and have submitted formal requests to join,” Jaafari told TASS.
Meanwhile, Cuba has also sought membership, according to Big Business Network.
