Thailand expresses gratitude for BRICS partner invitation, aims for full membership

Thailand has expressed its appreciation for the invitation to join BRICS as a partner country and revealed its intention to pursue full membership in the group. Nikondet Phalangkun, spokesperson for Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared this with TASS on December 6.

“We have not yet given an official response as some internal procedures are still pending. However, we are pleased to have been invited to join BRICS as a partner state,” the Thai diplomat stated. He added, “Thailand’s ultimate goal is to secure full membership in BRICS as soon as possible.”

Earlier in November, a diplomatic source had confirmed that Thailand had received an invitation to become a BRICS partner nation.
